About

Prof. Teng Zhou is an Assistant Professor in the Sustainable Energy and Environment Thrust at HKUST (Guangzhou) and an Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at HKUST since May 2022. His research focuses on Process and Energy Systems Engineering, including carbon capture and conversion, energy systems modeling and optimization, as well as energy storage/conversion devices design. Dr. Zhou obtained his doctoral degree from the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in 2016. He continued working as a Team Leader at the Max Planck Institute and W1 Professor at Magdeburg University before joining HKUST. Until May 2022, Dr. Zhou has published more than 30 journal articles as the first or corresponding author. He is acting as an Associate Editor, Guest Editor, and Editorial Board Member for several international journals. He is also the Scientific Committee Member for the International Symposium on Process Systems Engineering and European Symposium on Computer-Aided Process Engineering. Dr. Zhou earned many prestigious honors and awards, including the Future Chemical Engineering Scholar granted by the Global Academy of Chinese Chemical Engineers (GACCE) and CAST Directors Award granted by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
