Professor
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Prof. Qiye Zheng received his B.S. in Physics at Peking University in 2012. He then received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2017 where his research focused on the heat transfer and structure-properties-processing relationship in novel thermal functional materials. Before joining HKUST in 2022, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory where he developed novel high-throughput optical thermal metrologies for materials characterization, scanning-electron-microscopy-based nano-resolution thermal imaging, and thermal energy storage and heat transfer regulation for building applications.
